Career Online High School (COHS) offers adults who have not completed high school the opportunity to earn an accredited high school diploma and career certificates online. This program is completely free for students, as scholarships have been provided by The Friends of The Salt Lake City Public Library.


WHY ENROLL IN COHS?

Online: you can access your classroom 24/7, allowing you to the flexibility to work on your schoolwork at your own convenience.
Custom support: you'll be paired with a personal, academic coach to answer any questions and ensure that you succeed.
Specialized focus: pick one of 10 majors, which aligns with training for in-demand industries.
Career-oriented: seminars and lessons teach real-world job skills and help you to create a resume and cover letters.


ENROLLING IN CAREER ONLINE HIGH SCHOOL

Getting started with COHS is easy! There are four parts to the application process:

STEP ONE:

Complete this online self-assessment to determine if you meet the basic requirements of the program. You will be contacted within 7 days of submitting your online application.

STEP TWO:

Complete a prerequisite course scoring 70% or higher within two weeks (don't worry, you can take the exams again if you fail — but you must pass within two weeks!)

STEP THREE:

Participate in an informal interview with a Library staff member where you can ask questions and make sure this program is a good fit for you.

STEP FOUR:

Congratulations! You have received a scholarship and may complete this program for free!

PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS


• Must be a Salt Lake City Public Library cardholder
• Must be at least 19 years old

That's it! If you don't have access to wifi or tech equipment (computer or tablet), let us know; we have resources available.
