Alt Press Fest returns for its 13th year of celebrating local zines and those who make them. This year’s Fest will showcase emerging DIY writers and artists through a zine-trading wall, zine grab bags, a virtual artist gallery, and different activities for kids and teens where you can learn more about zines or even make one of your own.

ZINE GRAB BAGS

Local zinesters have donated over 2,000 zines to Alt Press Fest this year! Zine Grab Bags will be available at each City Library location while supplies last. Stop by your neighborhood branch to grab a mystery bag filled with local zines, buttons, postcards, stickers, and the Library’s annual APF collaborative zine.

ZINE TRADING WALL

Visit the Main Library during the week of the festival to check out APF’s first ever zine trading wall! This interactive exhibit is designed for folks to leave and take zines anonymously. Stop by and add one of your own creations and/or take one home!

ZINE CHECKOUT STAND

Library staff will be at our custom zine checkout stand at the Main Library on Saturday, October 16, 11am–3pm. Stop by to learn more about our unique collection and check out some zines from our catalog!

KIDS TAKE & MAKE KITS

Kids Zine and Relief Printmaking Take & Make kits will be available at each City Library location. Kids can take a kit home and create their own zines/books using hand-made stamps. Click here for a tutorial on how to make your zine and stamps!
